Christian Blog Hosting to Close

This Christian Blog Site To Close in 2 Weeks:

With Apologies to those who have worked hard on their free Christian Blog: Many of your blogs are inspiring and impressive. I send you greetings and blessings in the name of the Lord God who is worthy to be praised. You deserve a blog host who has the staff and resources to create something praiseworthy and keep the evil one from abusing the service. I pray the Lord will show you how to continue elsewhere.

Reason for Closure: We have been overrun with blog spam and porn spam.

When we started, there was a vision and passion to be a FREE Christian Blog hosting provider that would bring power to individuals to share testimonies, ministry news, and local news from a Christian perspective. There would be no embedded banners as on other free blog sites. Our big wins include accomplishing #1 Google Rank for “Christian Blogs” and “Free Christian Blogs”, among other search phrases, and over 10,000 visitors per day. Hooray for the Kingdom…

In the beginning, this vision was unique. Now there are many web spaces for this.

Although we wanted to serve a living God we have ended up doing the devil’s work. I am only one person and cannot delete porn spam fast enough. I refuse to play web host to the smut slingers. Therefore… we shall stop this and await God’s leading for what is next.

This domain will resurface as a Christian web space directory or personal blog of the site owner. Guest articles may be accepted but will be moderated. There will be no separate blogs available for ministries or individual bloggers.

INSTRUCTION TO MOVE YOUR BLOG:

I encourage you to move your blog to another provider if you want to maintain it.

  • From your control panel, you can backup your blog.
  • Join another wordpress blog service
  • Upload your backup.

May the peace of the Lord reign in your life and may His word speak through you and your blog - wherever you choose to post in the future…

Free Blogs - 70 New Blogs Overnight

Blog Spam is a real problem for blog community developers.

We had over 70 new blogs registered overnight…. 67 were spam blogs, mostly porn spam and viagra offers, etc.

My passion and sense of calling was to offer a CLEAN Christian News and Blog Network that is not influenced by “MEDIA” values or philosophies, but is truly driven by God’s people online.  Let the truth shine!  A thousand points of light.  All that jazz.

Praying for funding to do this right.  If no answer then this site may not be on the right path.

Free Christian Blogs - What’s Next?

Free Blogs - Christian Blogs, Growing up?

Ten years ago I started a web hosting company.  Due to my sense of calling in this regard, the first web site I set up was www.e4God.com.  At the time, it was a message board site.  Soon it became the only Christian Blogging site where a believer could get a free blog without running the risk of unwanted ads appearing on the free blog.

Now, all these years later, with over 5000 blogs having been created, we have made a dent in the darkness.  Satan is not pleased!  We are attacked by blog spam and porn spam, but we STAND against the enemy, holding our ground claimed for the Lord.

But, the opportunity to have a free christian blog is not unique to our site.  So we have to ask…  What’s next?  How do we reinvent ourselves to serve the Kingdom best?

What online service is needed by God’s people?   Where do we grow from here?  Please send your thoughts by posting a comment.

Christian Blogs - The Best Kind

The best kind of Christian Blogs are Testimonies.

As believers, we are supposed to be IN the world, but not OF the world.

What does this mean?  It means we should not be far away in monasteries or removed from the day to day struggles of life.  We should have the same issues other people have.

BUT… We should look different, act different, handle our challenges in a different way.

Sharing 0ur own story, our process, about who we are, what we have gone through, and how we respond to it is the most powerful thing we can do.  This is our testimony.  As Christ lives in us, we become the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIGHT for others.  We become gates into the new city.  Others come to faith first through being attracted to us.  Then, they want to know what we have that others don’t.  We point them to Christ and the Holy Spirit does the rest….

Yes, we need to know the word, and we need to be ready in season and out to share with others about the Lord.  BUT FIRST - we need to BE REAL.

Christ was a person who was AMONG the PEOPLE.  And he lived out loud.  The apostles learned to tell first person stories about who they used to be, and who they became in the LORD.

ORDINARY MEN AND WOMEN, transformed by the living Christ, telling our stories, will do more for the kingdom than any streetcorner preaching or great sermons or memorized verses.

Along those lines, I recently met a blogger who has a fantastic testimony and a heart that follows hard after Jesus.

Please allow me to introduce you to Will McCullough.  Will is a man’s man who is now the Lord’s man.  As a Marine, he learned about fighting and winning.  Now he is fighting and winning a new battle.  He is being trained up by the Holy Spirit and fashioned into a new kind of warrior.

Please read his story at http://pulledthroughthenarrowdoor.blogspot.com and drop him a word of encouragement.  BUT… no platitiudes…  The WORD Gives LIFE and so we want to give life to Will and not empty recitations of verses that “ShouldaCouldAughta” mean something.

Free Blogs - Urgent Notice For Members

Free Blogs are our gift to God’s people online.

We are pleased to provide the service, but it is clearly being abused by “comment spammers” to such an extent that we all need to make an adjustment.

We managed to get this under control on the main blog by setting all comments to moderated, and applying filters to blacklist comments that include troubling words in the text.  We recommended recently that you do the same.

Member blogs are controlled by members, and not by us.  We have no control over your blog but we need your help.  If you allow comments then the spammer is taking advantage of you and threatening our ability to serve the Kingdom.  These comment spammers are using incredible amounts of bandwidth, while each comment creates spam email to notify the “fake” email address given by the comment poster.

If this domain or server gets blacklisted by email servers around the world, then no email can be delivered from your blog - and God’s people will not be well served.

Please use your control panel to IMMEDIATELY set all comments to MODERATED, and add a list of objectionable words to your comment filter.

We are Praying for a breakthrough of the Spirit to deliver us from this attack, and we are counting on you to help.

Instructions:

Log in to your admin control panel, select options, then select discussion from the submenu.  See the options controls regarding comments.  They are about halfway down the discussion page… and look like this when set correctly:

 **************************

Usual settings for an article:
(These settings may be overridden for individual articles.)

E-mail me whenever:

Before a comment appears:(check the first choice)

Comment ModerationHold a comment in the queue if it contains or more links. (A common characteristic of comment spam is a large number of hyperlinks.)

When a comment contains any of these words in its content, name, URL, e-mail, or IP, it will be held in the moderation queue. One word or IP per line. It will match inside words, so “press” will match “WordPress”.

Comment BlacklistWhen a comment contains any of these words in its content, name, URL, e-mail, or IP, it will be marked as spam. One word or IP per line. It will match inside words, so “press” will match “WordPress”.

Click UPDATE after entering settings.

Free Christian Blogs - Thank You!

Free Christian Blogs wants to say THANK YOU to those who offered help during our spam fight.

We are prayerfully considering the addition of moderators, and those who can help with our ministry by coding or designing or otherwise making this free blog community more available to those who want to use it.

Our goal is to present the blog with a home page that lists most recent blogs and comments, and allows more interaction among members.  We want to be more of a testimony site and online communications system for Christians and Ministries.

My own calling is to provide a place for sharing of testimonies and ministry news, even local news or world news reports from a Christian perspective.  This can be sort of an iReport for Christians.  Anybody who wants to help with this mission is welcome to apply by email to email-at-e4God.com (replace “-at-” with “@”)

Free Christian Blogs Settles Down

Free Christian Blogs at e4God.com has installed enough controls to stop the blog spam!

You can control this on your own blog.

If you are still receiving comment spam on your own blog, please see your blog dashboard and enter some banned words to the COMMENTS BLACKLIST box on the

OPTIONS > DISCUSSION page found in your control panel.

See The menu that starts with DASHBOARD - SITE ADMIN - WRITE - and etc… The last choice at right is OPTIONS.  After you select OPTIONS you get a second menu line right below this first one that offers a few choices including DISCUSSION.  Choose DISCUSSION and enter some words to ban.  Comments using those words should no longer be accepted by your blog.

Be carefull not to enter too many words, as it will also block posts containing words that include your banned word, eg:  PRESS will block a post with the word WORPRESS in it since PRESS is part of the bigger word.

This solution should end any comment spam problems.

Let’s Blog for the Kingdom!  Get your free blog here and share your story, testimony, church or ministry news with the world!
